Meet the Maker......Lianne from Small Batch Soapery

What is your business name?
Small Batch Soapery.

Your name?
 Lianne Penfold.

How long have you been in business?
 This is my 3rd year.

Why did you decide to start your own business?
My son had an ongoing eczema issue that I wanted to resolve without medication and I wanted to work from home - I didn't want to use childcare at that stage.

What do you make and sell?
I make and sell cold process soap which is good old fashioned soap that needs up to 6 weeks cure time before use. I also make face cream, solid body lotion, lip balm, bath milk, bath salts, bath tea and soy wax products and I plan to introduce new products this year.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a busy mum with 5 children ranging in age from 22 years to newborn.. I love being able to work from home around my kids, it means I am there for them no matter what, and can drop everything at a moment's notice if needed.. I love finding or creating natural remedies and solutions for life's everyday issues and my kids love being my guinea humans!

How can customers find you?
My customers can find me on facebook
Small Batch Soapery or contact me via email - smallbatchsoapery@gmail.com

What is your business philosophy?
My business philosophy is very similar to my life philosophy - tread lightly and have integrity. I have customers that have been with me from the beginning and they have watched my business evolve. I give my customers a genuine product that can be life-changing for them and they know I never skimp on quality.

For the month of April I am offering free postage on orders of 10 or more bars.

This is the custom built table my hubby built for me where I do everything from hand cutting labels and packing orders to writing soapy notes and making gift packs.
This is the majority of my 'bits and pieces' - all my fragrances and essential oils, colour micas and glitters, botanicals etc.

This is my curing room where the soaps sit while they take up  to 6 weeks to cure.. You can also see some 'soaps in bed' under towels and my dehumidifier which helps keep everything nice and dry
Where the magic happens! I'm lucky enough to have a second kitchen downstairs in my home completely devoted to soaping..        It makes life so much easier than having to use the family kitchen!
