Meet the Maker - Tonia from The Clip Boutique

 What is your business name?
The Clip Bowtique

Your name?
Antonia, but I go by Tonia because my name is always mispronounced

How long have you been in business?
Just under 2 years

Why did you decide to start your own business?
I have been sewing and creative for as long as I can remember but I started creating a more indie/bespoke style of accessories because I have a huge love for American crafts and I found a lack of these available in Australia. Also, I have a huge respect for any hand crafted items and couldn't find any that I liked for my own daughter.

What do you make and sell?
I make a range of things and love to dabble. My first love is felt so I create hair clips and headbands out of felt. I am felt obsessed. I also make wool and felt wreaths, felt garlands, felt mobiles, felt key rings, felt flower crowns, felt ball necklaces, sock monkeys and a few different types of softies.

Tell us a little about yourself, children, interests etc.
I'm a born and bred Sydney-sider but truly believe I should have been born in the USA. I love all things American. I have a gorgeous pigeon pair - Mr 6 and Miss 3. I have a beautiful husband who is in the defence and often deployed. The only upside to him being away is that I can spend all night, every night creating and be guilt free about the mess I make and the zombie features that I am sporting
the next day. I am a classical guitarist, cricket champion and I make killer chicken schnitzel. My brain is always bursting with ideas - I just wish there were more hours in the day.

 How can customers find you?
I have a Facebook page and an email address. Details for both are:
www.facebook.com/theclipbowtique and theclipbowtique@gmail.com

What is your business philosophy?
Be original, stay true, experiment with anything, make only quality and there are no limits!

When purchasing something from The Clip Bowtique, please know that a huge amount of love, care, creativity and precision have gone into creating every single item. I truly am lucky enough to absolutely love what I do and am always excited by the idea of producing fun, spunky, original little creations.

Meet the Maker - Belinda of Willow Tree Kids

What is your business name?
Willow Tree Kids

Your name?
Belinda

How long have you been in business?
Willow Tree Kids has been registered since 2010 however I have spent the last 12 months really working at growing the business

Why did you decide to start your own business?
I started the business after my passion for sewing took off after making cloth nappies for my twins as babies. I needed to justify my fabric purchases somehow.
What do you make and sell?
I have a range of products that suit babies and young children. They are quality handmade goods made by me. Included in the range are Modern Cloth Nappies and accessories, Dribble Bibs and Bandanna Bibs, Teething rings and sensory rattle toys. You will find a good range for the little men in your life, this comes from having 6 boys of my own.

Tell us a little about yourself, children, interests etc.
About myself..... I am a wife and a mummy of 6, my family are my world. They keep me busy and out of trouble. When they are busy themselves you will usually find me at my sewing machine, there is something about the noise of the machine that is soothing, perhaps because it drowns out all other noises. Before having my own children, I worked with everyone else's, I was a preschool teacher. I played softball and I loved a good night out. Now I am just as content watching a good love story on the couch infront of the tv.

 How can customers find you?
